Obituary for Ann Ormond
ORMOND, Antoinetta “Ann” (nee Rizzo)
The family announces the gentle and peaceful passing of our mother Ann, at her home, St. Joseph’s Villa, in her 90th year on October 14, 2016. Loving mother of Anita Ormond-Gough, Maureen Ormond-Taylor, Daniel Ormond (Janice), Jane Perry (Russell), and Patricia McMahon (Ed). Cherished by her 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Mary Kennelly, Carmen Waldick, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Calogero “Charles” (1929) and Maria Bartolotta (1985). Through her life, Mom trusted that obstacles in the path are not obstacles, they ARE the path. She lived simply, travelled gracefully, and was a precious gift to all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa for their compassionate and exemplary care of Mom and the family. Visitation will be held at St. JOSEPH’S VILLA (56 Governors Rd, Dundas) on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Funeral Mass to follow in the chapel at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Ann’s name to the St. Joseph’s Villa Palliative Care Service (www.sjv.on.ca).
