RICHARD, Evelyn Margaret


Evelyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on July 2, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in her 73rd year. Evelyn was born in Souris, PEI to Albert and Mary (Johnson) Finnan on July 11, 1944. Evelyn moved to Hamilton as a young woman where she met her husband, Joseph Andre Richard also from PEI. The pair was married in August 1965. Once their daughters came along, she worked tirelessly as a wife, a homemaker, and mother. Evelyn is predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Andre Richard, her parents Albert and Mary Finnan, and her siblings Lawrence, Pius, Ruth, and Mary. Evelyn is survived by her four daughters Andrea Richard, Simone Cameron (Tim), Shelley Kay (Jamie) and Lori Richard, her six beloved grandchildren Timothy St. Pierre (Emily), Adam and Eric Stevens, Sarah, Zachary and Carson Kay, along with beloved great-granddaughter Reagan St. Pierre. Evelyn is also survived by her sister Theresa Perry and brother Peter Finnan, as well as by several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Peter's Hospital 3 West. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1919 King St. E. (between Cochrane and Rosedale) on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 128 Edgemont St. S. on Thursday July 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Hospital Foundation.
