Thompson, Edwin “Ed”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Thompson surrounded by his family peacefully at home on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the age of 72. He was a loving and devoted husband and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Jane of 52 years and his children Tammy (John), Jake (Lisa), Mandy (John), and Judith (Randy). Cherished grandfather of David, Aaron, Vanessa (Kevin), Jason (Brittany), Lexi, Johnny, and Hollyann. Dear brother of Muriel, Tom (Nina), Phyllis (predeceased), Marg (Bruce), and Lenny (Jackie). Predeceased by his parents Ludella and Jim. He will be missed by his dogs and faithful companions Myah and Baylee. His presence will be fondly remembered in the neighbourhood as he made such an impact on everyone around him. Ed had a long and very rewarding career with Hamilton Hydro. He was an avid fisherman and we know he's up there catching the big one with Sully and later gonna enjoy a good ol' fish fry! Special thanks to all the nursing staff and PSWs for making his stay at home comfortable. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME (796 Upper Gage Ave.) on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to Parkinson Canada would be greatly appreciated.
