Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 20, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Higgins. Loving mother of Joanne (Joe) Murphy, Lorna Mae (Paul) Hrvoyevich, Michael (Veronica) Higgins, Theresa (Mike) Harrod, Monica (Gary) Osborne, and Patrick (Anne) Higgins. Dear grandma of Leah, Jeff(Stephanie), Colleen(Shawn), Gregory, Jordan, Vanessa, Elijah(Sara), Melissa(Chris), Stephen(Olivia), Derek(Kate) and the late Sean Higgins. Dear great grandma of Kerrigan, Joshua, Kamrynn, Jacob, Taylor, Kyle, Akaylah, Mason, Nathan, Matthew, and Colton. Sister of Gertrude Collis, Margaret Swan, and predeceased by her siblings Austin, Irene, Patrick, Michael, and Sheila. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mae volunteered for 25 years at Revenue Canada and will always be remembered for her love of Crosswords, reading, and was an avid curler. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell) on Thursday November 23, 2017 from 5-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 305 E 37th St. on Friday November 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
