It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russell Long in his 74th year. His strength, love and perseverance have been witnessed by all who knew him and continued until his last breath. Surrounded by much love of family and friends he went peacefully and now is forever free. Survived by his large family, loving father of Russell, Jesse, Willow, Josh and Ashley and grandfather to ten amazing children. Son of Luvian Biggs and the oldest brother to Larry, Bill, Lois, Len, Brenda, Roz, Robin, Bev, Ron, Linda, Rhonda, Barb and Charles, all of whom he loved greatly. Russell is the definition of a fighter and his will to live life was admirable. You will be greatly missed, cherished and NEVER forgotten. The service for Russell will be held on Thursday, April 5th at Christ’s Cathedral Church - 252 James Street North in Hamilton - beginning at 11:00 a.m. after which he will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery - 700 Spring Gardens Road in Burlington (close to Easterbooks). Following this there will be a Celebration of Life at Liuna Station - 360 James Street North in Hamilton - at 1:30 p.m. Thank you to all of the angels in the Nephrology Ward and Dialysis Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years of support and care. Also a very special thank you to Bill Bokstein for all you have done.
