It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Herbert Bivens. Ron passed peacefully on Sunday April 29th, 2018 in his 85th year. Loving husband to Anna, caring father to Ron (Christine) and Laurann. Dear grandpa to Darriann, Kaillie and Victoria. Ron will also be missed by his older sister Mary and her family.

Ron was a very active Freemason. He was a Past Worshipful Master of three lodges, Fidelity Lodge, Port Perry; Malone Lodge, Sutton; Coronation Lodge, Smithville; and was a member of Brock Daylight Lodge in St. Catharines. He was very proud to have been elected as the Grand Senior Warden of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario in 2007. Ron was awarded his 50 Years a Mason Long Service Pin in 2013. He was also a very active York Rite member belonging to many bodies of York Rite, a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Eastern Star. Ron will be fondly remembered by the hundreds of Masons that he travelled with over his long career.

The family would like to thank the staff at Willow Grove for the care that they extended to Ron and his family, along with the staff at the Carlisle Retirement Residence.

Services will take place at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 7 East Ave S, Hamilton, ON L8N 2T3. Visitation will be held Thursday May 3rd from 6-8pm, funeral will take place Friday May 4th at 11am.
