Ferko, Franciska (nee Ficko)

With great sadness and heavy hearts the family of Franciska announce her passing, peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Hamilton General Hospital in her 92nd year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Karol. Proud and loving mother & mother-in-law of Mariane Mallia (Paul), Karl Ferko (Joanna nee Brucculeri), Cecilia Fleming (the late Harry), and Freda Babineau (Terry). Cherished grandma of Stephen (Nadia), Gregory, Giancarlo (Teresa), Mila (Marcio), Anthony, Jason (Amanda), Jeremy (Claudine), Anida (Josh), Deana (Mike), Joel, Jared (Jasna), Jonis and many great grandchildren. Dear sister of Tony Ficko of Slovenia. Survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in Slovenia. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1919 King Street East, on Wednesday, October 17th from 2-4 & 6-9pm. Prayers will be said at 3:30pm on Wednesday. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church on Thursday, October 18th at 10am. Burial to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
