Vaughan, Mary A. (nee Dowd)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Mary, on January 5, 2018 in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband Bill. Treasured mother of Bill (Gail), Darlene (John) Ashurst, Daniel, and Patricia. Mom’s pride and joy were her grandchildren Jenny (Joe), Michael, Matthew, Kevin, Patrick, and Kevin. Predeceased by her parents Daniel and Mary Dowd, and her siblings Kathleen, Miriam, Patrick, and Daniel. Survived by her sister Eileen, and sisters-in-law June and Georgina, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Kathleen, Mary, Bill Cox, and the exceptional care mom received from the I.C.U. staff at the Hamilton General Hospital. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Avenue (between Mohawk and Fennell), on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish (475 Mary Street) on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
