(1940-2019)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 7, 2019. Loving husband to Gay for 47 years. Beloved father of Conor, Niall, Aideen (John), and Sheila (Alan). Cherished grandfather of his 5 grandchildren. Liam was born in Galway, Ireland, and immigrated to Canada in 1971. He was a committed teacher for 30 years with the HWCDSB, and a dedicated member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. He will be fondly remembered as a scholar and a gentleman. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre and St. Joseph’s Villa for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home (7 East Ave. S.) on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Parish (260 Herkimer St.) on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
