Peacefully in his 65th year, David passed away surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his cherished wife of 41 years, Laura, and children Steven (Melissa), Ryan (Priya) and Katie. David will be missed by brothers Frank (Valerie) and Ken (Joyce), sisters Mary (Ivan) Maynard, and Nancy (Manuel) Carreiro, sister-in-law Cathy (Dave) Calligan and his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Betty Smith. David is a retiree from Stelco and will be remembered as an avid cyclist and longtime coach for the Blessed Sacrament Basketball Club, he was also an active member of the Glendale Curling Club.
At the families request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Avenue on Wednesday February 6 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with a service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 1pm on Thursday February 7.
