It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Gary William Pitt. Suddenly taken home to heaven while vacationing in Florida on Friday, April 26 2019. Gary leaves behind Linda and is survived by his children Randy (Donna), Shaun (Jen), Brandy, Daren (Beth), William (Sonia), Shanna (David). Siblings Carol (Tony), Jan and Buddy (Melody). Known by his grandchildren Taylor, Nova, Dakota, Kent, Trinity, Vanessa and Dragon as the Candy Man. Predeceased by his parents Stan and Florence and brother Jon. Remembered fondly by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his aunt Joan whom he shared a special bond. Gary will be greatly missed by his fellow residents of Park Avenue South. Well known for his boundless energy and helping others, volunteering and telling amazing stories. An ace card and pool player, who loved to cook for everyone. Nominated in 2018 as the senior citizen of the year in Hamilton for his work in the community. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 796 Upper Gage Avenue. On Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 1 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary service at 5:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Regina Mundi Catholic Church on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your spirit lives within us, forever in our hearts.
