A war bride from England, Laura settled with her first husband, George Hayes, in Nova Scotia and later, Hamilton. After George’s untimely death, she married Ronald Lowe. Laura had a long and fulfilling career at Robinson’s department store. Predeceased by Ron and stepdaughter, Laura Purser Ritchie (Grant), Laura is survived by stepdaughters, Deborah Serravalle (Eugene) and Nora Trpcic (Joe); sister Edna Fenton (Stan) in England; beloved nephews and great-nieces in the U.K., and grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Canada. Thank you to the staff of Shalom Village who made Laura’s final years comfortable. Visitation will be at the P.X. Dermody Funeral Home at 7 East Avenue South on Wednesday October 16 from 10 to 11am, followed by a chapel service and Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
