It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Hawkes at the age of 95 years on December 19, 2019 at Queen’s Garden Nursing Home. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bill. Loving mother of Jane Toth (Louis), and Bill Hawkes (Maria). Dear grandma of Kyle, Kyra, Mitchell, and Abigail. Irene was a tireless volunteer for the Good Shepherd, and a long-standing member of the Catholic Women’s League.
Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME (7 East Ave. S.) on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. with prayers at 5:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King Parish on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 9 a.m. Burial will follow to Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
