It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Murphy on January 3, 2017 at home in his 88th year. Beloved husband for 65 years to Patricia (nee Scollard). Loving father of Colleen McNeill (Steve), Sharon Prince (the late Robert), Jim Murphy (Joanne), Mary Ellen Amissah (Clement), Joe Murphy (Laurie), and Patti Jacobs (Brian). Dear grandpa of Jennifer (Ken), Ryan (Katie), Braydon (Jenni), Melanie (Bryan), Shelley, Erin (Andrew), David (Andrea), Mandy (John), Tammy (Phil), Kaleigh, Matthew (Chelsea), Kelly (Adam), Lindsay (Chris), Kaitlin Murphy and the late Alyssa Murphy. Also survived by 11 great grandchildren and by loving nieces and nephew. Predeceased by his parents and 3 siblings. Gordon was a retired employee of Westinghouse with 46 years of service. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Prayers will be said on Friday at 7:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Corpus Christi Church on Saturday, January 7th at 10am. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
