Obituary for Robert McGurk

Robert, Bob, Roberto McGurk, 87, passed away on Wednesday October 18th, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born on January 19th, 1930 in Hamilton, Ontario. In his own words a "burnout from the 30's", a happy boy born to Robert and Christina(Evason) McGurk. Bob grew up in Hamilton, lived in Hamilton and worked in Hamilton. Bob married the love of his life, Barbara, in 1955 in Hamilton. They were happily married for 47 awesome years. Bob was a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish, where he served as an usher for years. Bob was a retiree of Dofasco, where he was the visiting representative who helped so many people over the years. He made a difference in people's lives and was an ambassador for the company. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; his parents Robert and Christina and his brother Jerry. He is survived by his children Ed(Kim) of Dundas; Marty(Shannon) of Hamilton; Maria(Rob) of Delta, Ont; his grandchildren, Bobby(Angelique), Michael(Alex), Matthew(Adrianna), Katie and Hannah(Ivan) and great granddaughter Mia Barbara. He had many loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. Thank you to the nurses and doctors at the General Hospital for your help and compassion and thank you to all the people at the Wellington for all your support of Roberto. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at Squires, 550 Fennell Ave. East L8V 4S9 (Fennell and Upper Wentworth) on Sun Oct 29th from 1-6 pm. Please join the family to celebrate a great man's life. Bring stories to share. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Good Shepherd.
